It covers how you were asked to pay (personal bank accounts, cryptocurrency, fees for a job offer or Job Check), who you are dealing with (Immigration Advisers Authority licence, New Zealand Law Society registration, Companies Register and accredited employer listings), the documents and emails (lookalike "INZ" addresses, letters with no case officer or reference, applications you cannot see in your own Immigration Online account), and how you are being treated (pressure to pay today, guaranteed visas, blank forms, held passports).

What to do if the warning signs add up

Stop paying, keep every receipt and message, and report the adviser to the Immigration Advisers Authority and the fraud to Immigration New Zealand.
