Ishvinder Singh is a Licensed Immigration Adviser and co-founder of Living in NZ, an immigration advisory practice in Grey Lynn, Auckland. He has been licensed and advising on New Zealand immigration since 2014.
He came to immigration advice with cross-sectoral experience across several industries, and that background shapes how he works. Understanding how businesses actually operate — how roles are structured, how payroll and record-keeping work in practice, what an employer can and can't reasonably evidence — matters more in immigration casework than it might appear. A great many applications turn on whether an employment arrangement can be documented convincingly, and that is as much a commercial question as a legal one.
He advises across the full range of New Zealand immigration, and a substantial part of his practice sits at the difficult end of the system: Section 61 requests, appeals to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal, Ministerial requests, and cases that arrive after something has already gone wrong.
Areas of practice
Employer accreditation, Job Checks and compliance, Accredited Employer Work Visas, Skilled Migrant Category and Green List residence, partnership visas and residence, parent and family categories, visitor and student visas, and complex cases including reconsiderations, IPT appeals, Ministerial requests and Section 61.
Languages
Ishvinder advises clients in English, Hindi and Punjabi. Immigration decisions turn on detail, and being able to discuss your situation in your first language means less is lost in translation — particularly in relationship evidence, employment history and anything involving character or health.
